Robert Morrow
Robert “Bob” J. Morrow, age 88, of Abbotsford, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at The Waterford at Colby under the tender care of Heartland Hospice.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Abbotsford with Father Arockia Amirtha Raj Stanislaus presiding. Interment to follow at the Abbotsford Public Cemetery with military honors provided by the Colby VFW Post #2227. Please join the family from 9 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the church. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Abbotsford is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
Bob was born on April 30, 1936, the son of Carl and Ethel (Lundahl) Morrow in Abbotsford. He graduated from Abbotsford High School. On August 10, 1963, Bob was united in marriage to Mary Ann Pautz at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Abbotsford. They had been together for 63 years.
Bob worked at Abbotsford Lumber Company for many years. After they closed, he started his own carpentry business out of his home until he retired.
Bob served his country in the Army National Guard and he also served his community for many years. He was a volunteer firefighter on the Abbotsford Fire Department for many years, including assistant fire chief. He was one of the original members of the board of directors who formed the Abbotsford Lions Club in 1968 and continued to be an active member until the last year of his life. Bob served as Alderman of Ward 4 on Abbotsford City Council for 27 years (1983-2010) which he was very proud to serve as. He was also an active member of St. Bernard’s Church, even serving on the church building committee when St. Bernard’s was renovated in 1987 and helped to restore the stained-glass windows from the original church.
He loved being with his family, and especially cherished his granddaughter, Vivian. He also liked working in his small garden in his later years and reading about history.
Bob is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; his two children: Deb (Ron) Staples of Stevens Point and Mark (Jan) Morrow of Stanley and his granddaughter, Vivian Morrow of Stanley.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Anne Marie.
