EOPLE A THENS Mroczenski birth

A daughter, Ada Rose, was born to Kimberly and Joel Mroczenski, Athens, on June 19, 2024, at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau. She weighed seven pounds, seven ounces and was 20.25 inches long.

Senior Card Group

The Senior Citizens card group met on June 20 for weekly card playing at the Athens Area Fire and Ambulance Hall.

Three games of Sheepshead were played. Steve Klockziem won first placeandNorbertLakecameinsecond in the first game. Andy Hoef won first and Rick Schaetzl came in second in the second game. Tom Ellenbecker came in first and Wil Strack came in second in the third game.

Low score was Butch Boris. Newcomers are encouraged to come play Sheepshead every Thursday from 12:30-3:30 p.m. at theAthens fire hall.

Friday dinner, concert

The Athens Knights of Columbus will host Friday lunch and dinner under the shelter at Memorial Park. The meal will include brats, burgers, french fries, beverages and desserts. Serving will start at 11 a.m and go until 8 p.m. The Old Timers Band concert will start at 7:30 p.m., also under the shelter.

Sunflower Weaving

Youth and families are invited to stop in at the Athens Branch Library and weave your own flower. Children will learn simple weaving techniques to create a unique flower using a paper plate and colorful yarn. Stop in anytime during regular business hours the week of July 1-6.
