The final concert of the Medford Area Performing Arts Association’s 2023-2024 season will be on Sunday, May 5, when Branden & James with Effie Passero, will perform at Medford Area Senior High School’s Red and White Theatre, beginning at 7 p.m.

Renowned cello and vocal duo Branden & James team up with singer/songwriter Effie Passero of Postmodern Jukebox and American idol fame for this tour. Tenor Branden James was a contestant on America’s Got Talent during the show’s eighth season. James Clark is an Australian-born cellist and pianist. The award-winning trio will bring to life some of Broadway’s favorites, desirable classics, and modern pops through their soothing sound combination of vocals, piano, and cello.

Season ticket holders do not want to miss this special evening.

The Medford Area Performing Arts Association has begun their membership drive for the 2024-25 concert season, which consists of three programs. Legendary Ladies of Country: Lisa Brokop celebrates several of the female country music pioneers, including Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Barbara Mandrell, EmmyLou Harris, Dolly Parton, Dottie West, and Anne Murray. The String Showdown is a dueling string act led by Greg Byers, on cello, and Mike Lauer, on guitar, performing tunes of the ‘60s through today’s chart-toppers. In A Neil Diamond Story with Denny Diamond, Denny “Diamond” Svehla presents an entertaining night of Neil Diamond’s music. Anyone purchasing a ticket for the 2024-25 season may attend the “Branden & James with Effie Passero” concert as a bonus concert. New memberships may be purchased at the door the night of the program.


This year the Medford Boy Scouts worked with Medford County Market to Fill a Tent for Scouting for Food. The Troop collected donations of food and money for the Medford Food Pantry on Saturday morning. Over $430 and several pounds of food were donated.

The donation will be used to cover the cost of groceries used to fill 52 Thanksgiving Boxes. Each box will have the essential groceries for a Thanksgiving dinner, including a voucher for either a turkey or a ham.
