86th Annual Meeting of JREC membership planned April 27

Jump River Electric Cooperative’s (JREC’s) 86th Annual Meeting of its Membership is scheduled for Saturday, April 27, 2024. This event will take place at the Ladysmith headquarters warehouse, conveniently located just north of Ladysmith along State Highway 27. Additionally, members can actively participate in this meeting from the Hayward outpost. Registration will begin at both locations at 9:30 a.m. with the business meeting starting at 10 a.m.

In appreciation of member participation, attendees will receive a $25 energy credit and a door prize (one per membership). There will also be an opportunity to win one of five $100 energy credits or the grand prize of a $500 energy credit at the end of the meeting.

JREC General Manager/CEO Kurt Harris encourages members to attend so they can hear firsthand some exciting news about the cooperative. Another meeting highlight will be a presentation by Jeremy Browning, Vice President of Generation at Dairyland Power Cooperative. A report will also be given by JREC’s Board Chairman, offering insights into the cooperative’s activities.

Harris emphasizes the importance of member involvement in the annual meeting: “Active member participation is a key principle of the cooperative. Our annual meeting provides a platform for members to stay informed about the cooperative’s progress and for us to hear from you, our members.”

Voting can be conveniently exercised through one of three avenues. Members may cast an electronic or absentee mail-in ballot ahead of the annual meeting. For those attending the meeting in person and who have not yet cast their ballot, they may do so by meeting-day ballot during registration. For any inquiries regarding the various balloting options or deadlines, please contact the cooperative at 715-532-5524 or go to jrec.com.
