On March 30, at 10:03 a.m., a vehicle operated by William Cahoon, 34, of Medford, was eastbound on Hwy 64 when it struck a buggy operated by Eli Glick, 21, of Gilman, from behind. The Cahoon vehicle sustained disabling damage to the front end and the buggy was destroyed. The horse was dispatched by a nearby resident prior to law enforcement arrival. Glick was transported from the scene by ambulance to Aspirus Medford Hospital with suspected serious injuries. Cahoon was cited for speeding in 55 mph zone (1-10 mph) and inattentive driving. R EPORTS Two vehicle crashes

On March 27 at 5:33 p.m., a vehicle operated by Lori Brodhagen, 68, of Abbotsford, was backing out of the driveway of 507 E. Conrad Dr. onto the roadway in the city of Medford. While backing up, the rear passenger corner of the Brodhagen vehicle struck the front driver’s side of Jerry Konop, of Haugen which was legally parked on the south side of Conrad Dr.

On March 27 at 7:33 a.m., a vehicle operated by Colton Schmidt, 16, of Medford, pulled into a parking lot at 1015 W. Broadway Ave. and turned right. The vehicle lost control due to parking lot conditions and slid into a vehicle operated by Kayelee Lindahl, 16, of Medford causing damage to both vehicles.

On April 3 at 3:35 p.m., a vehicle operated by Rebecca Schmidtfranz, 30, of Medford was traveling eastbound on Broadway Ave. (Hwy 64) in the city of Medford. A school bus was traveling westbound when its lights were activated notifying surrounding traffic to slow to a stop. The Schmidtfranz vehicle began to slow down. A vehicle operated by Nicholas Krause, 16, of Medford, was traveling eastbound behind Schmidtfranz and failed to stop in time. The front of the Krause vehicle struck the back of the Schmidtfranz vehicle. Krause stated he was not districted and that he had attempted to slow down. He also stated he was looking at the bus’s lights during the incident. The driver of the school bus stated that Krause did not make any attempt to slow down. Schmidtfranz was treated at Aspirus Medford Hospital for a broken nose that was the result of her face hitting the steering wheel during the incident. The eastbound land was closed by law enforcement until debris could be cleared from the road. The lane reopened at 3:58 p.m. Both vehicles sustained functional damage.

Car vs. Deer

On April 6 at 8:02 p.m., a vehicle operated by Virginia Henrickson, 79, of Rib Lake, struck a deer while eastbound on CTH M in the town of Greenwood.

On April 5 at 6:52 p.m., a vehicle operated by Cibriana Pintor, 20, of Wausau, struck a deer while northbound on CTH C in the town of Deer Creek.

On April 4 at 9:29 p.m., a vehicle operated by Derrick Neitzel, 31, of Medford, struck a deer while southbound on CTH E in the town of Holway.

On April 1, at 10:45 p.m., a vehicle operated by Jayden Thums, 19, of Rib Lake, struck a deer while eastbound on Hwy 64 in the town of Medford.

On March 25, at 5:29 p.m., a vehicle operated by Hunter Turner, 22, of Rib Lake, struck a deer while northbound on Hwy 102 in the town of Rib Lake.

One vehicle crashes

On April 5, at 11:28 p.m., a vehicle operated by Jessica Zvolena, 43, of Medford, was northbound on Castle Rd., when it entered the east ditch striking a driveway embankment and continuing in the ditch before becoming stuck. The operator and passenger fled the scene prior to police arrival. Zvolena received citations for Failure to keep vehicle under control and failure of operator to notify police of an accident. The passenger was cited for failure of occupant to notify police of an accident.

On April 3 at 4:59 p.m., a vehicle operated by Vanessa Jane Loertscher, 31, of Rib Lake, was eastbound on CTH C in the town Browning, when it lost control due to an icy patch on the road. The vehicle crossed the center line and entered the north ditch where it lightly struck a fence and came to rest facing east parallel with the road. The vehicle suffered light cosmetic damage and was removed from the ditch and driven from the scene.

On April 2, at 5 p.m., a vehicle operated by David Robinson, 46, of Medford, was eastbound on Faber Lane near W1943 in the town of Goodrich, when it left the roadway, traversed a driveway and then rolled before coming to rest near an outbuilding right side up. Law enforcement was notified of the crash at 8:09 a.m. on April 3.

On April 9 at 1:46 p.m., a vehicle operated by Bruce Pawlowicz, 68, of Dorchester, was driving through the parking lot at Medford Plaza in the city of Medford and made a left turn at the parking lot intersection. During the turn, the left side of the vehicle struck a concrete sign post. The was no damage to the post.
