Stocks, bonds, and mutual funds have been a common theme within the financial literacy classroom as the SIFMA (Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association) Foundation Stock Market Game is in full swing for our fourth and fifth grade and high school Finance and Investing students. The game began in mid-February and ends in late April. Through this stock market game experience, students are learning the importance of diversified portfolios, the history of the stock market and reasons to invest.

Our Simplicity Credit Union school branch (shown in operation above) is less than 150 deposits away from reaching our 500 deposit goal by the end of May! When the goal is reached, Simplicity Credit Union will donate $500 to our school! The Greyhound conference room continues to be a busy place each Tuesday morning from 7:40 to 8 a.m.

An exciting event for students and their families will be taking place on Tuesday, May 7, titled “Planting a Bright Financial Future,” in partnership with the Loyal FFA and Simplicity Credit Union. Families can drop in anytime between 4 and 7 p.m. This is a free event filled with activities and fun, but prior registration is required. Please email jzarnke@loyal.k12. wi.us to sign up.
