D orchester Dorchester Park Corp. meeting minutes
The regular meeting of the Dorchester Park Corp. Board opened at 6:35 p.m. at the old village hall with board president Ron Robida presiding. There were seven board members present.
The board approved ordering another new park camping sign and contacting the DNR about stocking fish in the lake.
A discussion was held on tax deductions for charitable donations from businesses and individuals. Since the park board has a 501. C4 designation for the park which allows only businesses to deduct donations, it was decided the park board should attempt to get a 501.C3 so both businesses and individuals are able to take deductions for donations.
A lengthly discussion was held about the installation of a splash pad. It was decided further research needs to be done before decisions are made. At 7:36 the meeting adjourned followed by the annual meeting which opened at 7:40 p.m. with 12 members attending.
Ashley Pinter asked if there were any plans to improve the playground equipment that has become aged. After a discussion she offered to look into options to replace equipment.
Jim Jantsch asked if anyone has ever looked into procuring aquatic species to combat the slime in the lake. No one had. He offered to explore the possibility and report back.
This year Wayne Rau, Alex Pinter and Al Bach are up for reelection. After nominations were opened, John Pinter moved to cast a unanimous ballot for all three candidates, seconded by Jim Jantsch. Motion carried.
Dues for park membership are due at this time. They remain $15 for singles and $20 for families payable to Dorchester Park Corp. Any park board member will accept payment and direct it to treasurer, Alex Pinter.
Robida named and thanked Peace Church, Pickle Ball Girls, Dorchester Days, Forward Bank, Pork Loin Supper, the village, Northwest Hardwoods, Cindy Steen, Carol Duvall, Grace Dietel-Ensign, Carolyn Golz and helpers, park board members and citizens that donate money and labor that make the park exceptional.
After an 8:15 p.m. adjournment, the group socialized with cheese, sausage, crackers and beverages.
