Need to know how-to? Tune in to Evin Outdoors

“One day, I was thinking, it’d be so cool to record everything I did.”

Evin Tainter, 14-year-old Holcombe youth, got his wish, when his dad, Travis Tainter, told him to start his own YouTube channel. That was in October of 2021. Since then, Evin has gained almost 200 followers from the free video service.

Once he started his own YouTube account (https:// www.youtube.com/channel/UCd13Tuw02RjH1unb-G5aSMxQ), Evin was ready to start adding content.

“It’s a pretty easy process from there,” he said. The hard part, it turns out, is finding an editing service that’s free. To record his content, Evin has a GoPro camera on his helmet and tripods to film his videos. Evin is working to keep on growing his You Tube channel to give out tips and if it gets big enough, he may someday make it a career. “Once I reach my peak subscribers (500) that I have, that’d be a pretty awesome point for me,” said Evin. Videos consist of fishing and hunting knowhow, and tips while working on snowmobiles and dirt bikes. Evin tries to post a new video every three to five months, which can be challenging, with school and a job, as well as technology problems.

“It’s definitely a lot harder than I thought it would be,” he said. “Every time I post a new video, I get probably 10 new followers.”

In his content, Evin talks about baits and tricks to use when fishing, and about hunting products, from everything on which scent to use, to how to safely get into your tree stand. When he’s working on one of his machines, he focuses on where to find a part.

“Just to give people a really good understanding of what to do,” said Evin. “My dad loves it.”

Travis isn’t the only one, as Evin has followers from all over, including Russia and Italy, with viewers expressing their approval of his content.

“Seeing those comments, really makes my day,” said Evin.
