eports Found guilty

Jose Ariasbasilio, 22, of Colby, was found guilty due to a guilty plea of operating without carrying a license, amended from operating without a valid license (second offense within three years) and was ordered to pay $393.50.

Marc Baldwin, 62, of Marshfield, was found guilty due to a no contest plea of possession of marijuana, and was order to pay $263.50. A charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed on a prosecutor’s motion.

Melody Best, 43, of Medford, was found guilty due to a no contest plea of speeding in 55 mph zone (20-24 mph), amended from speeding in 55 mph zone (30-34 mph) and was ordered to pay $225.70.

Christopher Dyer, 49, of Medford, was found guilty due to a no contest plea of operating a motor vehicle without insurance and was ordered to pay $200.50. A charge of failure to display vehicle license plates was dismissed on a prosecutor’s motion.

Jered Farris, 37, of Medford, was found guilty due to a no contest plea of child enticement-expose genitals/pubic area, intimate parts. Court orders a withheld sentence and places Ferris on probation for 5 years. Conditions of probation are 90 days of county jail time with Huber privileges and this is to begin at the discretion of the probation agent, but within 120 days, pay $500 fine inclusive of court costs, submit a DNA sample and pay the surcharge, undergo a psychosexual evaluation and follow through with treatment recommendations, stay in compliance with the Taylor County Human Service’s safety plan. All costs are to be paid directly to the Taylor County Clerk of Courts Office and are combining with his attorney fees to be paid in the amount of $100 a month beginning December 1, 2023.

Wesley Goodwin, 30, of Port Edwards, was found guilty due to a guilty plea of operating without a valid license, amended from operating while revoked (revoked due to alcohol/controlled substance/refusal) and was ordered to pay $267.50.

Jonathan Herrara, 20, of Abbotsford, was found guilty due to a no contest plea of failure to yield when emerging from non-highway access. He was also found guilty of operating without carrying a license amended from operating with out a valid license (second within three years). He was ordered to pay $568.80. A charge of operating a motor vehicle without insurance was dismissed on prosecutor’s motion.

Kafka Trucking of Mosinee was found guilty due to a no contest plea of violating class A highway weight limits (second or subsequent offense) and was ordered to pay $1,071.27.

Gared Nissen, 34, of Lublin, was found guilty due to a no contest plea of a county violation of battery, amended from battery and was ordered to pay $330.50.

Joshua Sayre, 33, of Merrill, was found guilty of sex offender failure to update information, and was ordered to pay $1,158.

Travis Smith, 34, of Medford, was found guilty due to a guilty plea of two counts of possession of child pornography. Court orders an 8 year prison sentence consisting of 3 years of initial confinement followed by 5 years of extended supervision on each count, to be concurrent to each other. a $500 image surcharge for each count. Defendant does have 4 days of sentence credit. Court assessments totaling $2,036 to be paid to the Taylor County Clerk of Courts Office in the amount of $25 a month beginning 30 days from release of custody.

Plea agreements

Frank Dubois, 53, of Medford was found guilty due to no contest pleas of failure to stop at a stop sign; operating an ATV or UTV in a careless way; violating speed limits; and resisting or obstructing an officer and was ordered to pay $1,620.80. The following charges were dismissed on prosecutor’s motions: failure to stop at a stop sign (second and subsequent offenses); failure to yield for a yield sign and violating speed limits. A deferred entry of judgment agreement was approved for a felony charge of vehicle operator fleeing or eluding an officer and the court will hold the case open for a period of one year. Conditions of the deferred entry of judgment are for Dubois to not commit any criminal offense, continue to comply with the terms of the bond, notify the Taylor County District Attorney and the Clerk of Court’s Office of any change of address within 10 days of said change, as well as undergo AODA and follow through with any recommended treatment.

A deferred prosecution agreement was approved for Roberta Ellingson, 75, of Westboro, for a charge of excessive tinting in a vent/side window.

A plea agreement was approved for Wyatt Johnson, 19, of Eau Claire. Johnson was found guilty due to a no contest pleas for operating with a PAC >.08 and less than <.15 first offense; resisting/failing to stop (amended from vehicle operator flee/elude officer); and battery (amended from substantial battery -intend bodily harm). The following charges were dismissed: three counts of failure to stop at a stop sign; operating at an unreasonable and imprudent speed, minor transporting intoxicants in a motor vehicle; felony bail jumping; operation without required lamps lighted; and violate absolute sobriety law. Court orders Johnson to pay a forfeiture of $811.50, 6 month driver’s license revocation, $33 blood draw fee, successfully complete AODA and follow through with the driver safety plan. For the resisting/failure to stop, court orders a withheld sentence and places Johnson on probation for 2 years. Conditions of probation are to pay the court costs, provide a DNA sample and pay the surcharge. For battery, the court orders a withheld sentence and places Johnson on probation for 2 years. Conditions of probation are to pay the court costs, provide a DNA sample and pay the surcharge, do 100 hours of uncompensated community service, write a letter of apology to the victim due within 30 days and to be preapproved by the probation agent, undergo an anger management assessment and follow through with any recommended treatments. All costs are to be paid directly to the Taylor County Clerk of Courts office in the amount of $100 a month beginning December 1, 2023. Total amount due is $1,745.50. The defendant can apply for expungement upon successful completion of probation.

Devyn Vlach, 21, of Rib Lake, was found guilty due to a no contest plea of theft of movable property less than or equal to $2,500 amended from theft of movable property special facts. Court orders a withheld sentence and places Vlach on probation for one year. Conditions of probation are to pay the court costs, provide a DNA sample and pay the surcharge, write a letter of apology to the victim due within 30 days which is to be preapproved by the probation agent, successfully complete AODA and follow through with any recommended treatment, 25 hours of uncompensated community service. All costs totaling $458 are to be paid directly to the Taylor County Clerk of Courts Office in the amount of $100 a month beginning December 1, 2023. Vlach can apply for expungement upon successful completion of probation.
