Carol Hiebl, who is studying communication, has received the Chancellor Scholars scholarship from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater for the 2023-24 school year.
MCPL Story Time
Story times for children of all ages and their parents/ caregivers will be held on the first and third Tuesday of the month at the Edgar library branch. There will be stories, songs and other literaturebased activities during the 30-minute programs on Tuesdays, November 7 and 21, 1111:30 a.m.
Book and Bake Sale
The Edgar Women’s Club will be hosting its annual Book and Bake Sale on November 3, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., at the village hall. Books in good condition may be brought to the community room by November 2.
MCPL Recipe Swap
Adults are invited to a community cookbook and recipe swap event on November 6, 5-6:30 p.m. at the Edgar library branch, 224 S. 3rd Avenue. Recipes will be compiled from the program and made into a community cookbook that will eventually be available for checkout at the library. Those who can’t make it to the event can submit their recipes any time during regular business hours.
Medicare 101
Adults can learn Medicare basics at a program on November 8, 4-5 p.m., at the Edgar library branch. The presentation will be led by a local life and health insurance agent, but is non-commerical in nature and for informational purposes only.
Whitetail Night
Held at Edgar High School, Whitetail Night is a free event for deer hunters the Monday before opening day. It will be held November 13 at 7 p.m. There will be door prizes and raffles available. The topic will be using drones to locate wounded deer, with speakers Kyle Ziembo, DNR warden, and Nick Wayerski with Marshfield Drones.
MCPL Book Club
Head to the Edgar library on November 14, 12 p.m., for next month’s discussion on “All Creatures Great & Small.” New members are always welcome; just read the book and attend the event.
Pokémon Club
The monthly Pokémon Club for upper-elementary and middle school-aged kids will be held on November 20, 4-5 p.m., at the Edgar library branch. The library offers different Pokémon activities each month and the opportunity to play the card game with other kids.
