Area communities set youth Halloween fun
Area communities have set Halloween trick-or-treat hours. Residents who are taking part in handing out candy are reminded to turn their porch lights on.
City of Medford
The Medford Area Chamber of Commerce will have Harvest Days activities all weekend long. Friday night is adult trick or treating from 5 to 8 p.m., October 28 is family day with a Chili Cook-off and dessert contest at the chamber from 9 to 9:30 a.m. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., there is candy bag decorating at Huey’s Hideaway, at 1 p.m. there is Dragon Training Academy at the Frances L. Simek Memorial Library, at 2 p.m. there is a candy drop at the library, at 3:30 p.m. there is a family movie at Broadway Theatre. From 6 to 9 p.m. there is a Spooky Path starting on Allman St. near the Pine Line Trail trailhead and going south.
On Sunday, Oct. 29, the parade starts at 2 p.m. in the downtown. The route is Wisconsin Ave. to Main St. There is a sensory friendly zone by the Chamber Office on Perkins St. and an elderly zone where people can stay in their vehicles across from Abiding Care.
City trick-or-treat hours are Sunday, Oct. 29 from the end of the Harvest Days parade to 6 p.m.
Rib Lake
There will be Halloween Bowling on Oct. 29 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Little Bohemia for grades PreK to 5.
The Friends of Rib Lake are sponsoring a Halloween parade which starts at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday October 29 at the Rib Lake Public Library. Parade route will go past nursing home and down McComb Ave. and ending at Fayette Ave.
Trick-or-Treat hours are Sunday, Oct. 29 from 3 to 6 p.m.
Gilman
Gilman trick-or-treat hours are Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Stetsonville
Stetsonville trick-or-treat hours are Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 4 to 6 p.m.
There will be no Halloween Party at the Stetsonville Fire Department this year, however, the Fire Department will be handing out candy at the fire hall.
Westboro
In place of trick or treating in the community, the Westboro Pride Committee will be holding a Kids Halloween Party and Trunk or Treating on Oct. 29 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Westboro VFW Hall. Costume judging will take place at 1 p.m. with prizes, games and goody bags for the children. Trunk or treating will be held in the VFW parking lot.
