Ian Scott Carbon

1986-2023

Ian Scott Carbon of Stanley, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Oct. 13, 2023 at the age of 37, at the Stanley Aspirus Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 21 at the Sheldon Community Center. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m., followed by a service at 12 p.m. with pastor Jeremy Allard officiating. A lunch will be provided at the community center at 1 p.m.

Ian was born to Lisa Carbon & John Leo Otto, III on Aug. 29, 1986 in Ashland.

Ian worked at the Medford Walmart as a meat & produce team lead. Ian enjoyed fishing, spending time with his “little girl”, Brynleigh, and spending time with beloved pets Peanut, Lillian & Louis. Ian graduated from Mellen High School in 2005. He then pursued a degree in the dental field as a dental assistant and graduated from Penn Foster in 2018. He and Melissa met in April of 2020, and soon moved to Medford together in December of 2020. Ian proposed to Melissa in 2021, and they got married in Pensacola Beach, Fla.on March 19, 2023 with family by their sides.

Ian is survived by his loving wife, Melissa; sisters, Brianna & Rhonda; mother, Lisa; aunt and uncle Tim and Cookie Carbon; his step-children, Eriq (Jill) Jones, MacKenzie (Sam) Jones; his granddaughter he called, his “precious little girl”, Brynleigh Krarup. Also, his sisters-in-law Jessica, Erica and Alicia Miller; and his nephew, Brody Miller. Alongside with several aunts, uncles, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glenn and Doreen Carbon; aunt, Susan Markee; and grandmother, Maureen Nelson.
