wednesday, octob er 21, 1998 Wausau Metals may expand
Wausau Metals may be expanding their building in the business/industrial park.
Stratford Economic Development Corporation was asked to borrow the money for the 12,000 square foot expansion, board and committee member Greg Leick reported at the October 13 meeting of the Stratford Village Board. Wausau Metals would then rent the additional space. Economic development is still paying for the 10,000 square foot speculation building where Wausau Metals is currently residing. Wausau Metals agreed to a five year lease.
The village would be responsible for the loan payments if Wausau Metals broke the lease and Economic Development could not cover the debt.

Athens Board of Education President Pat Ostrowski and School District Administrator Mark Smits promised school board members at last Wednesdayâs meeting that they would try and come up with a strategy to address nagging building concerns, including chronic crowding of the elementary and high school buildings.
The two school officials will need as a first step, however, to resolve their own differences. The pair repeatedly disagreed over the approach needed to win public support for a building program.
Last year, a solid majority of Athens voters turned down 680-269 a $6.45 million referendum to rebuild Athens High School into a K-12 facility.
