Magazine Mania
Check out magazines at the Colby Community Library (CCL) February 3-28 to eceive a drawing slip for each magazine checked out. On February 28, winners will be drawn for prizes. Patrons will appreciate the variety of subscriptions the library receives, including gardening, hunting and fishing, crafting, decorating, and news publications.
Healthy Heart Class
Learn how to protect your heart to live longer. AEGIS Therapies will be presenting a Healthy Heart class on Tuesday, February 11 at 1 p.m. Topics to be discussed are: how the heart works, how your heart changes with age, signs of heart disease, how to keep your heart healthy, and what is heart failure. The class is free and no registration is necessary.
Win Tickets
The ShowCase Players are offering two pairs of tickets to the March performance of Airport Encounters. When visiting the CCL, register to win tickets to your choice of shows to be held March 7-8-9 and March 14-15-16.
Book Clubs
The afternoon and evening book clubs will meet on Tuesday, February 18 to discuss “Remarkably Bright Creatures” by Shelby Van Pelt. Choose to attend at 1 or 6 p.m.
Craft and Hobby
Beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday, February 21, Craft and Hobby doors will open in the CCL Community Room. Bring individual crafts to work on or help prep items for the Maddie Day. Participants are welcome to bring a snack to share.
Story Times
Story Times at the CCL are Friday mornings at 10 a.m. Preschool children and an adult are invited to an hour of stories, poems, songs, and simple crafts.

lies to enjoy. Pick up different ones each time you visit the CCL. For adults, there are free take-home activities to help you “Exercise Your Mind.”
Make reading even more interesting by joining “Occupation Poker” fun. The CCL is offering year-long book and movie challenges for adults. To play, check out books or movies at the CCL and note an occupation. Return the forms, draw a card, and become eligible for Abby/Colby Chamber certificates when year-end poker hands are compiled on December 30. The more forms completed throughout the year, the more chances of winning.
The CCL has paper copies of basic 2024 Federal and State tax forms and instructions. Look for them in the library vestibule. Please note that computers are available to download other tax forms; however, there is a charge for printing them.
Stop at Forward Bank, Colby location, to donate books, movies, and puzzles. They will be collecting items for the Friends of the Colby Community Library annual Colby Cheese Days Book and Movie Sale. Until July 1, books and movies (in good condition) may be dropped off at Forward Bank during regular business hours. (Please do not bring the materials to the CCL, as all sorting will be done at Forward Bank.) The sale, sponsored by the Friends of the CCL, will be held on Thursday, July 17 and Friday, July 18 at the Colby Lions Shelter.
In 2025, service projects in memory of Maddie Thums will be packaged in “We Care” take home bags with items to be sewn in the comfort of one’s own home. Pick up projects, beginning March 3, and bring them back completed by month’s end. The items, requested by Marshfield Medical Center, are comfort covers, ice pack covers, and flannel infant blankets.
The Colby Community Library is open M/W/F from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and TU/TH from noon until 7 p.m. The library is closed on weekends during the winter months. Curbside pickup is available during all open hours. Call the library at 715-223-2000 for assistance.
