the police department came in ….

the police department came in under the $1,000 mark per set.

The board agreed to purchase nine sets of the protective vests, two for each ambulance and one for the Central Fire & EMS command vehicle.

“Most of the time, especially when we were training on the school mass shooting scenarios this last summer with the sheriff’s department, you would go in with only two EMTs at a time,” Mueller said as part of an explanation for the number of vests per vehicle. “I think we would be good with two.”

It was also noted that the district was looking to potentially get a donation to help cover some of the costs of the sets.

and her ex recorded on the officer’s body cam if she would like to do so. The woman declined, believing the male’s claims to be attempts to gain control. The individual stated if the male was truly concerned about the daughter, he should take her to the doctor.

The individual stated she had screenshots of some conversations and would come into the police station the next day to show them. She stated that her ex had been contacting her all day and had been deleting messages. The individual stated that she had no problem talking to her children, but does not want contact with her ex. When she starts a conversation with her children, her ex snatches the phone from them and begins speaking to her. She said her ex swore at one of their teenage daughters, making her cry, when she wouldn’t give the phone to her dad.

The individual met with an officer at the police department to share the screenshots of the messages she had been receiving from her ex. Before her arrival, her ex had called and told the officer that his youngest child now has a fever and that the child wants to hear from her mother. He asked the officer to have the individual call her daughter.

The individual showed the officer messages from her ex through their daughter’s social media account. Some of the messages contained derogatory terms directed toward her.

The individual told the officer that she had spoken with one of her daughters over video earlier that day at the same time that her ex had called the department to have her call them. After she ended the video call with her daughter, her ex called four times. She stated that her ex had found out where she works and has been calling the manager. The individual played a message that her ex had sent her manager, in which he accused her of being a drug user and said she should not be trusted. Her place of employment had blocked his number, but he has continued to call through other numbers.

The officer asked the woman if she was afraid that her ex would come to Colby. She said she was very fearful that he would, and she was also fearful for her children’s safety, who are in the ex’s custody. The officer advised her to contact the county in which they live if she has concerns.

The officer called the ex and informed him that any further communication with the individual could result in harassment charges. The officer forwarded prior reports as well as the current report to the district attorney for charges of unlawful use of a telephone and harassment.
