Abbotsford First City Days rolls into town this weekend

The 17th annual celebration of Abbotsford First City Days will bring plenty of entertainment to Abbotsford Aug. 12 - 14. The fun kicks off on Friday, Aug. 12, with an antique tractor pull beginning at 6 p.m. Registration for the event begins at 4 p.m. and the pit area is located in the Abbotsford High School parking lot.

“The Strat Cats” will be providing the entertainment for the evening as they hit the stage from 6 - 10 p.m.

On Saturday, registration begins at 8 a.m. for the vintage snowmobile show and snowmobile swap meet and ends at 1 p.m. Voting will take place at 2 p.m. and trophies will be handed out at 3 p.m.

Breakfast will be served on both Saturday and Sunday mornings from 7 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. There will also be adult games like standup billiards throughout the weekend. A bouncy house, petting zoo and other fun activities will be provided for the children.

Lawn tractor and ATV pulls will be held with registration beginning at noon and the pulls starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The pit area will be part of the Abbotsford High School parking lot. No alcohol or drugs will be permitted in the pit area. The event will be followed by a car cruise with registration starting at 5 p.m. and the cruise beginning at 6 p.m. All cars are welcome. A trophy will be given out for the best cruiser.

Juke Box Elvis Starring Dave Ehlert from Branson, MO., will be performing from 6 - 10 p.m.

Sunday kicks off with church in the park from 9 - 10 a.m. The fun continues as the car, truck, tractor and motorcycle show runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Voting will commence at 2 p.m. with trophies being awarded at 3 p.m. Two trophies per class will be handed out with eight classes of cars and 11 classes for other vehicles.

Rowdy Boys DJ will provide entertainment throughout the show.

The weekend will also feature a beer stand with food, kids games, crafters and other vendors all weekend.
