Marathon County Public Library Book Sale Aug. 3 – 6

The Friends of the Marathon County Public Library is hosting its summer book sale, and the public is invited to shop. The sale will be held from August 3 through August 6 at the library’s Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau.

Thousands of items will be available for purchase during the four-day sale, including hardcover and paperback books, audiobooks on CD, TV series and movies on DVD and Bluray, music CDs and video games.

Items such as magazines, board games, puzzles and more will also be available. All of the items available were either taken out of the library collection or donated by members of the community. Proceeds from the sale will go to fund programs and events for the public at all nine Marathon County Public Library locations.

The sale opens on Wednesday, August 3 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with a special members only preview sale. Only Friends of MCPL members will be admitted on this night, though non-members can join on-the-spot for just $10 (and your membership is good for the whole year). The sale then opens up to the general public on Thursday, August 4 from 9:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m., Friday, August 5 from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and concludes with a special $6 bag sale on Saturday, August 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. All you can fit in one paper grocery store bag for $6. Entrance to the sale will be through the door on the library’s west side only.
