Forward Bank gives $75,000 for Abby football upgrades
Forward Bank has pledged $75,000 to help update the announcer’s booth and speaker system at the Abbotsford football field. This is the first phase in a larger initiative to upgrade the field and grounds for future Falcon athletes.
As enrollment continues to consistently rise in the Abbotsford School District, interest in prep sports also has been increasing. Families and fans like hearing the play-by-play of the football games and announcement of winners at track meets which has highlighted the difficulties of managing an aging speaker system Additionally, the current media booth is too small to accommodate all the people that make game day happen. To address these needs, the Falcon Media Center became Phase 1.
“We are excited to build on the generous donation that Forward has kicked off our project with,” commented Ryan Bargender, District Administrator. “The three-phase approach to improving the field and surrounding grounds will allow our community to see incremental progress toward creating a place that all Falcon athletes can be proud of. We will be actively seeking support during all phases to get this accomplished for the benefit of our community.”
“Student athletes learn important lessons as they compete at the high school level and develop into great community leaders and employees,” stated Traci Geiger, Colby Office Manager for Forward Bank. “We have been lucky enough to spend our Friday nights at Falcon football games and will be proud to see and hear the benefi ts of the first phase of the improvement project. I encourage others in our community to join us in supporting the Falcons and improving their facilities.”
