The Marathon County Board of Supervisors last week Tuesday approved committee assignments by newly reelected board chairman Kurt Gibbs.

In announcing the assignments, Gibbs told the board, which includes 17 new members, that his picks followed a “significant discussion” with his board vice-chairman Craig McEwen, Schofield, and county administrator Lance Leonhard.

“This was my best attempt to capitalize on our most significant assets, yourselves, to manage 700 employees in 24 departments that run 1,000 programs on behalf of Marathon County residents.”

Gibbs said all supervisors received either their first or second preference for committee assignments.

The assignments to standing committees were as follows: Environmental Resources: Jacob Langenhahn, chair, Allen Drabek, vice-chair, Rick Seefeldt, David Oberbeck, Mike Ritter, Andrew Venzke, Tony Sherfinski, Kim Ungerer, Rodney Roskopf (Farm Service Agency representative) and Marilyn Bhend (Marathon County Towns and Villages representatives).

Extension, Education and Economic Development: Rick Seefeldt, chair, Becky Buch, vice-chair, Bobby Niemeyer, Yee Leng Xiong, Kim Ungerer, David Baker and Tom Rosenberg.

Health and Human Services: Michelle Van Krey, chair, Jennifer Aarrestad, vice-chair, Ron Covelli, Dennis Gonnering, Donna Krause, Alyson Leahy and Bobby Niemeyer.

Human Resources, Finance and Property: John Robinson, cahir, Lyson Leahy, vice-chair, Kurt Gibbs, Gayle Marshall, Kody Hart, Ann Lemmer and Yee Leng Xiong.

Infrastructure: Craig McEwen, chair, Chris Dickinson, vice-chair, Tom Seubert, Joel Straub, John Robinson, Gary Gisselman and Jasper Hartinger.

Public Safety: Matt Bootz, chair, Jean Maszk, vice-chair, Stacey Morache, Allen Opall, Jason Wilhelm, Bruce Lamont, Tim Sondelski.

Board members selected supervisors Chris Dickinson and Jean Maszk to sit on the county board’s Executive Committee, along with all of the stand committee chairpersons.

In other appointments, Gibbs named supervisors to other boards, committees and commissions: Central Wisconsin Airport Board: Chris Dickinson, Becky Buch, Tom Seubert.Kurt Kluck was named as a citizen member.

McDevco Board of Directors: Becky Buch, Ron Covelli, Mike Ritter and Joel Straub.

Forestry and Recreation Committee: Rick Seefeldt, chair, Thomas Rosenberg, vice-chair, and Jean Maszk.

Aging and Disability Resource Center Board of Central Wisconsin: Ann Lemmer and Chris Dickinson.

Board of Adjustment: Tom Seubert. Richard Lawson was re-appointed as a citizen member.

Marathon County Broadband Task Force: John Robinson, chair, Jacob Langenhahn, Gary Gisselman, Jennifer Aarestad, Mike Ritter and Tony Sherfinski. Citizen members will be Eric Budleski, Wade Carroll, Kurt Schoenrock, Jonathan Euting and Milton Olson.

Golden Sands Resource Conservation and Development Committee: Allen Drabek.

Metallic Mining Committee: Jacob Langenhahn, chair and John Robinson. Citizen members will be Alan Christensen, Russ Wilson, Jim Small, Kimm Weber and Dean Beck.

Partnership for Progressive Agriculture: Andrew Venzke.

Social Services Board: Allen Drabek, Kody Hart, Yee leng Xiong. Citizen members will be Christin Keele and Julie Bollmann.

Solid Waste Management Board: Tom Seubert, Allen Drabek, David Baker. Myron Podjaski will be a town of Ringle representative.

Board of Health: Michelle Van Krey, Ann Lemmer, Yee Leng Xiong, Stacey Morache, Jennifer Aarestad. Citizen members will be Helen Luce, Tara Draeger and Katherine Dively.

North central Community Services Board: Alyson Leahy.

Community Development Block Grant Housing Regional Board: Kim Ungerer.

Public Library Board: Gary Gisselman. Citizen member Reid Rayome will serve another term.
