Colder weather didn’t strike here until Tuesday when large snowflakes quickly covered the bare and somewhat icy landscape. Alumni Win The alumni and the high school basketball teams met in the traditional holiday game at the armory. The encounter provided much merriment for the audience and the alumni won by one point, 47-46. TRIBUNE-P HONOGRAPH PUBLISHED IN ABBOTSFORD AND COLBY - 50 YEARS AGO JANUARY 2, 1975 Bowlers to compete The top five bowlers from the area will be competing against each other in the five star scratch tournament at Dukes. The Abbotsford bowlers are: Irve Klieforth, Jim Eggebrecht, Duane Grube, Dick Polnaszek and Owen Schraufnagel. The Colby bowlers are: Jim Thieme, Fuzzy Mohan, Russ Meyer, Norm Meinke and Morey Wicker. Colonial House to be non-profit Colonial House of Colby and seven other nursing homes in the state are being donated to a new non-profit corporation effective December 31, 1974. TRIBUNE -P HONOGRAPH PUBLISHED IN ABBOTSFORD AND COLBY - 25 YEARS AGO JANUARY 5, 2000 Expanding Abby landfill City officials were told this week that it would cost $274,000 to add another 20,000 cubic yards of space to the Abbotsford landfill, but were warned the DNR would probably not approve such a plan. Rahm Estates replat is approved The Colby City Council approved a re-plat of the Rahm Estates residential development that will eventually open 42 new building lots east of Hwy. 13 and south of Adams Street.
