DEPUTY SHERIFF TAYLOR COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE Starting Pay: $24.75 [negotiable based on experience] Excellent benefits to include participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System with 14.3% County Contribution Applications are being accepted for a full-time Deputy Sheriff position at the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office. Applicants who have previous law enforcement experience may be offered a higher wage rate and additional vacation. Employees in this position will perform a variety of duties including, but not limited to, taking calls for service, patrolling to deter and detect crime, investigating complaints, citing and/or arresting law violators, preparing and/or serving civil processes and protecting persons and property. Interested applicants for the Deputy Sheriff position must be certifiable by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board; current certification is preferred. Applicants must possess a minimum of 60 college credits at the time of employment, a current driver’s license, and no criminal convictions. Applicants will be subject to written testing, oral interview, medical examination, drug screening, psychological evaluation and background investigation. A completed Taylor County [Law Enforcement Deputy or Jailer/Dispatcher] application is required to be considered for this position. Applications will be accepted until our needs are met.
