Council Meeting March 20, 2025 7 p.m. mayor Mark Larson called the regular council meeting to order at the city council chambers. The meeting opened, with mayor Larson leading the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a moment of silence honoring all individuals who have, or are, protecting our freedom. Minutes taken by administrator/clerktreasurer DeJongh. Council members present: Bill Kvapil, Steve Turany, Terry Smith and Floyd Hickethier. Absent: Sandra Schecklman and Deb Semanko. Guests present: Ginna Young and Renee Swenson, from Cedar Corp. Motion Hickethier, seconded Kvapil, to accept the agenda, as printed. Carried four ayes, two absent. Motion Hickethier, seconded Smith, to approve the regular council meeting minutes of March 6, 2025. Carried four ayes, two absent. Motion Turany, seconded Hickethier, to charge $1/year rent to the organizers of the farmer’s market, the Mill Yard pavilion for this season, which includes the Food Truck Frenzy events. Carried four ayes, two absent. Motion Turany, seconded Hickethier, to approve a Memorandum of Understanding with Chippewa County Health Dept. to furnish a sharps collection kiosk, at the police dept.
