Voters lined up at registration check-in stations at Medford City Hall Tuesday morning before receiving their ballots. Based on voter registrations as of November 1, the county saw a high turnout with more than 96% of registered voters heading to the polls. The presidential race was a major draw across the country, but locally there were assembly races and Medford school district voters were asked to weigh in on a school referendum vote and state assembly races. Kathy Cypher of 9th St. voiced strong opposition to a proposed conditional use permit to allow a developer to construct two duplexes on a lot on the un-improved street. The area is accessed through a 20-foot wide easement driveway that is privately maintained. Commission members on a 4-2 vote approved granting the permit over resident objections.
