Saige Tichy has been awarded Stratford High School Student of the Month in February.

A term to describe Tichy is tenacious. The Latin root “ten” means to hold. A tenacious person is scomeone who doesn’t easily give up or let go. Tenacity is driven by a person’s determination to achieve a goal, unwilling to give up until they accomplish it.

One nominator said this: “What I admire about Tichy’s personality is her ability to face obstacles and remain true to herself and positive in responding to adversity. While others might quit or use these obstacles as an excuse, she overcomes these obstacles with drive and determination toward her goals and successes.”

Another nominator said this: “What impresses me most about Tichy is her attitude and determination. My course is extremely challenging, but because of her work ethic and perseverance, she became one of my best students. Her smile and cheery personality also brighthen up those around her.”

Tichy is involved in the following school extracurricur activities: Track and field, student senate, national honor society, forensics, FCA, FCO, FCCLA, varsity band, Feed my Starving Children, Marshfield Medical Center and YMCA Teen of Distinction.
