Washburn man gets 7-year sentence
A Washburn man will serve time in state prison for vehicle theft, burglary, firearm and drug charges.
On March 27, Judge Ann Knox-Bauer found Jesse P. Kelly, 37, of Washburn, guilty as part of a plea agreement for possession of a firearm as a convicted felon (a class G felony); resisting or obstructing an officer (a class A misdemeanor) and take and drive a vehicle without consent 2nd offense (a class F felony). The court dismissed but read in for sentencing the following counts: possession of a firearm as a convicted felon; knowingly possess methamphetamine waste; possess drug paraphernalia; burglary of a building or dwelling as a repeater.
Court ordered two 7-year prison sentences consisting of 3 years of initial confinement and 4 years extended supervision. The sentence is to run concurrently.
Conditions of extended supervision include: Payment of court costs (including reimbursement of a tow bill), DNA sample and surcharge fee, no contact with [the victim], maintain absolute sobriety, letter of apology to the victim (to be preapproved by the victim/witness coordinator), payment of restitution + 10% surcharge fee, alcohol and drug assessment and follow-through with all recommended treatment and counseling as deemed necessary by his agent.
The court also ordered a 7-year prison sentence consisting of 3 years of initial confinement and 4 years extended supervision.
Kelly qualifies for both the Substance Abuse Program and Challenge Incarceration Program. Defendant has 80 days of sentence credit in the event of revocation. Total amount owed is $2,457.02. Defendant shall set up a payment plan with the Taylor County Clerk of Court's office at the rate of $25/month to start no later than 30 days after being released to extended supervision.

Found guilty
Ruddy Chavarriamalonado, 27, of Rib Lake, was found guilty of operating without carrying a license, amended from operating without a valid license (2nd within 3 years) and was ordered to pay $393.50.
Troy Madlon, 34, of Sheldon, was found guilty of trapping without a license. A charge of place, use, hunt wild animals with bait (<5 gallons) was dismissed on prosector’s motion. Court ordered him to pay $222.90 and have DNR revocation/suspension of hunting privileges.
Gary Marschke, 51, of Westboro, was found guilty due to a no contest plea of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and was ordered to pay $527.
Hunter Mercer, 17, of Westboro, was found guilty due to a no contest plea of operating without a valid license and was ordered to pay $200.50.
Nikki Mingus, 24, of Medford, was found guilty due to a no contest plea of possession of THC, amended from possession with intent to deliver THC (>200 to 1000 grams). A charge of possess drug paraphernalia was dismissed but read in for sentencing purposes. Court orders withheld sentence and places the defendant on probation for a period of one (1) year with the following conditions: Payment of court costs, DNA sample and pay the surcharge fee, AODA and follow through with all treatment recommendations, and counseling as deemed necessary by probation. Total due is $443. Defendant's cash bond to be applied with the remainder being paid toward courtappointed attorneys fees. Jenny Porath, 41, of Chippewa Falls, was found guilty due to guilty pleas of two counts of disorderly conduct. The court dismissed but read in for sentencing three counts of felony bail jumping. Court ordered her to pay $1,158.
Travis Trudeau, 30, of Withee, was found guilty due to a no contest plea of operating without a valid license, amended from operating while revoked (revoked due to alcohol/controlled substance/refusal) and was ordered to pay $267.50.
Travis Warner, 36, of Medford, was found guilty of failure to report to county jail (10+ Days). Court ordered a straight sentence consisting of five (5) months county jail with Huber privileges and good time, consecutive to any current sentence in being, payment of court costs and provide a DNA sample and pay the surcharge fee. dard conditions, defendant shall seek counseling and provide proof of counseling to the district attorney’s office prior to the expiration of the agreement, shall have no violent contact with the victim, and shall not possess nor consume any alcohol. If the defendant successfully completes the agreement, the state will move to dismiss case.
Court approved a deferred entry of judgement agreement for Alexander Schmidt, 47, of Withee. Under the agreement, Schmidt was found guilty due to a guilty plea of contact after a domestic abuse arrest. Court accepts the Deferred Entry of Judgment Agreement and holds the case open for one year. In addition to the standard conditions, defendant shall seek counseling and provide proof to the DA's office prior to the expiration of the agreement, write a letter of apology to the victim (to be pre-approved by the victim/witness coordinator), and shall attend at least one (1) in-person recovery session per month and provide proof of attendance to the DA's office. Upon successful completion of the agreement, the State will move to dismiss the case. Defendant's cash bond was amended to prohibit defendant from consuming or possessing alcohol.
