‘Understanding Colon Health’ – Community Education offered event in Medford

Aspirus Medford Hospital and Clinic invites you to attend Understanding Colon Health, a free educational event on Tuesday, April 29, at 5:30 p.m.

Colon health is a crucial yet often overlooked aspect of overall wellness. Many people may not recognize early signs of colon issues or know when to seek screenings. This event is designed to provide you with valuable knowledge and practical advice to make informed health decisions.

The session will take place in the Community Education Room at Aspirus Medford Hospital, 135 S. Gibson Street, Medford, WI.

Clint Semrau, DO, General Surgeon at Aspirus Medford Clinic, is the featured presenter. With years of experience in colon health and preventive care, Dr. Semrau will offer expert insights on symptoms, risk factors, and the importance of routine screenings.

'Colon health is something many people don’t think about until it’s too late,' says Dr. Semrau. 'With early detection, colon cancer is one of the most preventable and treatable cancers. My goal is to provide people with the knowledge they need to take proactive steps for their health.'

Dr. Semrau will also discuss common myths about colon health, lifestyle choices that promote digestive wellness, and what to expect during screenings.

'A lot of people avoid getting screened out of fear or uncertainty,' Dr. Semrau adds. 'We want to change that by providing clear, honest information in a supportive environment.'

Community members aged 40 and above are encouraged to attend. Whether you’re looking to take preventive measures or have questions about symptoms, this event is an excellent opportunity to hear from a trusted medical expert. Nursing staff will also be available to provide additional guidance and answer questions.

This free program requires registration by calling 715.748.2121, ext. 17288 (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) to register. Light refreshments will be provided.
