Patricia Ann Brehm Patricia Ann Brehm

1931-2025

Patricia Ann Brehm, 94, of Medford, passed away peacefully while under the care of Hope Hospice on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Aspirus Care and Rehab where she had been a resident for the past five years. Pat was born Jan. 19, 1931 in Medford to Earl and Helen (Rothamer) Brehm. She attended Holy Rosary School in Medford (1st – 8th grade) before moving to Milwaukee to enter the School Sisters of St. Francis Religious Order as Sister Mary de Rosario. She graduated from St. Joseph High School and Alverno College in Milwaukee.

Pat became a teacher and enjoyed teaching elementary school children. She taught at various catholic schools while she was a nun, and in the public school system in the Chicago suburbs. After 37 years, Pat retired from teaching in 1993, and then moved back to Medford to enjoy her “golden years” near her extended family.

Pat was generous with her time and talent. She put in many hours of volunteer work at Holy Rosary School, Medford’s Aspirus Hospital, and at Country Gardens.

Besides volunteering, Pat enjoyed visiting the sick and elderly. She loved playing bingo and card games. She was always eager to try her luck at gambling and made frequent trips to the casino. But what people commented on most was Pat’s delightful sense of humor.

Pat is survived by her sisters, Arlene (Dick) Rivenes of Sugarland, Texas, and Kathleen Gaab of Medford. She is also survived by six nephews, two nieces, and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Earl Brehm; her older sister, Betty Hempel; and brothers-in-law, Louis Hempel and Jerome Gaab.

A memorial mass will be held 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford with Fr. Patrick McConnell officiating. Interment will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m., Saturday at the church.

Memorials will be designated at a later date. Hemer-Pickerign Funeral & Cremation Services of Medford is serving the family.
