5 Rainbow gymnasts are all-around champs
Medford’s Rainbow Gymnastics Club earned team championships in Level 6 and Level 3 competition this past weekend at the Leprechaun Leap 2025 hosted by the Phoenix Gymnastics Club of Bloomer.
Rainbow’s trio of Level 6 gymnasts earned a team score of 106.15 to comfortably outscore Beaver Dam’s Tumble Tyme club (100.35).
In the level’s 11-13 age group, Rainbow’s Ruby Holtman was the champion, scoring 36.1 all-around points, while Aurelia Brushaber was third with 34.45. Holtman won the floor with a 9.25 and the uneven bars with an 8.9. She was second on the vault with a 9.0 and on the balance beam with an 8.95. Brushaber was second on the floor at 9.1, third on the beam at 8.85 and tied for third on the vault (8.9) and bars (7.6).
In the 14 and up age group, Brooke Buechel nabbed the championship with an all-around score of 35.6. She won the bars at 9.15, tied for first on floor at 9.1, took second on vault at 9.1 and was third on the beam at 8.25.
Rainbow’s Level 3 team posted a team score of 108.95 to get by Hub City of Marshfield (107.3) and Tumble Tyme (103.5) and win the meet championship.
Three gymnasts scored well in the 11-year-old age group. Tinley Hamm and Grace Ziembo were the top two finishers with 36.05 and 35.25 all-around points. Camren Frahmann was fifth out of seven with an all-around score of 33.0.
Hamm won the floor (9.25) and beam (9.15), took second on bars (8.75) and was fourth on the vault (8.9). Ziembo won the vault (9.2) and bars (9.0) and was fourth on beam (8.5) and floor (8.55). Frahmann was third on vault with an 8.95, fourth on bars at 7.7 and sixth on beam (8.25) and floor (8.1).
Cheyanne Keller was the champion for ages 7-9, earning an all-around total of 36.1. She won the beam at 9.25, tied for first on vault at 8.8 and was second on bars (9.05) and floor (9.0). Myla Mallak’s 35.1 all-around points put her in fourth place overall. She was third on the floor (8.95), tied for third on vault (8.7) and was fourth on beam (8.95) and bars (8.5). Cayden Mayer scored 32.55 points in the meet to take fifth, including an 8.9 on floor, an 8.3 on bars, an 8.0 on vault and a 7.35 on beam.
Amiyah Burrier was second out of four gymnasts in the 12-13 age group of Level 3. She earned 35.65 points, including a winning score of 9.1 on vault and secondplace scores of 9.15 on beam, 8.9 on bars and 8.5 on floor.
Rainbow’s Level 4 group was second in team competition with 101.1 points, trailing Hub City (103.5) and outscoring Tumble Tyme (97.6). All of the scoring came in the 10-11 age group. Lena Schug won it with 35.1 all-around points. She won the beam (9.1) and floor (8.7) and was second on vault (8.9) and bars (8.4). Avery Lange was second with 33.45 all-around points and Miranda Potocnik was fourth with 32.55. Lange won the vault (9.1) and bars (8.55), tied for fourth on floor (8.0) and was fifth on beam (7.8). Potocnik was second on floor at 8.6, third on beam at 8.25, fourth on bars at 7.2 and tied for fourth on vault at 8.5.
In Level 2, Rainbow’s total of 107.9 trailed Hub City
