Joseph Albert Gulish, 59, of Sheldon, died on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025 at his brother’s home in Owen, surrounded by his children and his siblings, following a six month cancer diagnosis. He was born on Feb. 19, 1965 in Ladysmith. Joe married Theresa Williams on May 2, 1998 in Sheldon. He was a longtime resident of Sheldon. This is where he raised his family. Joe was a fireman on the Sheldon Fire Department for ten years, serving as the Chief for five years. He was also on the HazMat team. Joe loved to snowmobile and was a member of the Sheldon Rough Riders snowmobile club. He passed the love of snowmobiling on to his kids and grandkids.
Joe worked at Weather Shield for 40 years, working in both the Ladysmith and Medford plants. He loved hunting, camping, canoeing, and being outdoors. Joe was on several horseshoe leagues. He loved to have a good time with family and friends. His smile and sense of humor were unmatched. Joe enjoyed playing games with his family, especially his grandkids. He was a

He is survived by his wife, Theresa; his mother, Estelle (Gary) Anderson of Medford; one son, Trevor (Cayce) Gulish of Sheldon, and their children, Charlie and Athena; three daughters; Jessica (Blake) Gulish of Eau Claire, and their children, Ashton and Vada; Ashley (Ian) Fawley of Tony, and their children, Anthony, Lucas, Kroy; and Zoey and Shannon (Landon) Yoder of Ladysmith, and their children, Ellie and Ethan; and one brother, Bill (Pam) Gulish of Owen; and two sisters, Rose (Gary) Thums of Rib Lake, and Laura (Gregg) Tushaus of Scottsdale, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Rehbein; grandparents, Joe and Regina Jankoski; and two uncles, Peter Jankoski, and Dean Rehbein.
A memorial mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Ladysmith with Fr. Papi Reddy Yeruva and Deacon Craig Voldberg officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
Joe was the best dad and grandpa. He was loved beyond measure by his entire family, the friends that became family, and by all who met him. There will never be another like him. He will be missed by many.
