R EPORTS One vehicle crashes
On February 8, at 9:38 a.m., a vehicle operated by Tamara Schmitt, 43, of Medford, was traveling east on CTH O just west of Sunset Road in the town of Little Black. Schmitt’s vehicle was behind other vehicles that were slowing down. According to the crash report, Schmitt was unable to slow down due to the snow covered roads causing the vehicle to go into the south side ditch just each of Sunset Rd. The vehicle sustained functional damage.
On February 4, at 7:37 p.m., a vehicle operated by Lucas Geiger, 16, of Medford, was traveling southbound on River Dr. in the town of Medford, and due to road conditions the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle then crashed into the east ditch of River Dr. The vehicle sustained disabling damage.
On February 3, at 5:40 a.m., a vehicle operated by Esteban Pacheco, 45, of Withee, was traveling northbound on CTH DD in the town of Hammel. Due to the snow falling and blowing, the driver was unable to see the stop sign on Hwy 64 until coming upon it. The driver attempted to stop, but ended up sliding through the intersection, into the ditch, and striking a tree on the north side of the road. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.
On February 3 at 5:17 a.m., a vehicle operated by Kristy and slid through the intersection colliding with the rear axle of a semi-tractor with trailer operated by Luke Graykowski, 59, of Merrill, which was eastbound on CTH M. Pittman’s vehicle sustained disabling damage. The trailer owned by Graykowski Distributing of Wausau sustained functional damage. Pittman was cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
On February 5, at 1:36 p.m., Medford police responded to a two vehicle crash in the parking lot at 1010 N. 8th St. According to the crash report, Dane Kemzy, 29, of Nixa, Mo., stated he was stopped when a vehcile operated by Kevin Bohanon, 48, of Pine City, Minn., backed into him. Bohanon stated they both backed into each other. There was damage to the driver’s side rear bumper of the Kemzy vehicle and no damage observed to the Bohanon vehicle.
Deer related crashes
On February 1, at 6:45 a.m., a vehicle operated by Kelsey Bathke, 32, of Cornell, struck a deer while traveling eastbound on Hwy 64 in the town of Hammel. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.
On February 7, at 12:27 p.m., a vehicle operated by Lawrence Halvorson, 70, of Ogema, struck a deer while southbound on Hwy 13 in the city of Medford. The vehicle received minor damage.
On February 7, at 7:45 a.m., a vehicle operated by Andrew Boehlen, 17, of Withee, was traveling eastbound on Hwy 64 in the town of Hammel, and was negotiating the northbound curve at CTH O and came upon a snow and ice covered portion which caused the vehicle to lose traction on the roadway. The driver lost control and entered the western ditch striking a CTH O junction sign. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.
Mueller, 63, of Medford, was operating eastbound on Allman Ave. and approached the stop sign near Oriole Dr. Mueller failed to stop at the stop sign and proceeded through the T-intersection due to the snow covered road conditions. The vehicle entered the ditch and hit a fence east of Oriole Dr. owned by Steven Henrichs. The vehicle continued through the ditch west side fence and hit the north side fence, where it came to rest facing north. The driver was cited for failure to stop at the stop sign and the vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.
On January 28, at 4:25 p.m., a vehicle operated by Andrew Schreiner, 90, of Athens, was traveling westbound on CTH M and attempted to turn south on Spring Dr. While turning the vehicle slid on a patch of ice located on Spring Drive. The vehicle entered the southwest ditch of the intersection. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.
Two vehicle crashes
On February 3, at 5:39 a.m., a vehicle operated by Gregory Pittman, 39, of Rib Lake, was southbound on Timber Dr. and approaching the stop sign controlled intersection with CTH M in the town of Greenwood. According to the crash report, the driver advised that he was traveling too fast for conditions and was unable to stop at the stop sign

MANDEE ELLIS/THE STAR NEWS On February 1, at 11:48 p.m., a vehicle operated by Jasmyne Thiel, 31, of Medford, was eastbound on E. Pine St. west of Shattuck St., in the city of Medford. According to the crash report, the vehicle was suspected and most likely traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection with Shattuck St. and traveled through the intersection at a high rate of speed. The vehicle left the roadway up onto the curb, struck a fire hydrant with the left drivers side, struck a utility pole snapping it off, struck the mailbox of 415 E. Pine St. and came to rest in the apron of 415 E. Pine St. Witness made contact with the female driver after learning of the crash to check on the welfare of the driver. Witness stated the driver was picked up from the scene and left. According to the report, the mother of the driver walked to the sene and tried to take responsibility as the driver. The mother of the driver admitted her daughter was the driver. The driver had left the scene of a property damage crash and failed to notify police or return to the scene. Thiel was cited for reckless driving - endanger safety, failure to stop at a stop sign, hit and run - property adjacent to highway, failure of occupant to notify police of accident, operate motor vehicle without insurance, and failure to keep vehicle under control. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.
