Luella R. “Lou” Thiede, age 91, of Medford, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025 at Aspirus Cedar Lane Apts. while under the care of Hope Hospice. Luella was born March 27, 1933 in Rib Lake to Abel and Evelyn (La Porte) Christianson. On Feb. 3, 1951, she married Les Thiede, who preceded her in death Aug. 23, 2011. They had celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Her greatest achievement in life was raising her six children. She enjoyed gardening and had an amazing green thumb for indoor and outdoor plants. She also liked baking and keeping sweets in the house for all her boys. In her later years she made many quilts and enjoyed taking them to auctions. She also made many booties and hats for the Medford Birthing Center. She was also pretty proud of being the Bingo Queen at the assisted living.

She is survived by her six children, Kathy (Bud) Mohr of Green Bay, Chuck Thiede, Jeff Thiede, Julie (Mike) Brost, Lori (Roger) Haizel, Bill (Carmen) Thiede, all of Medford. She was so very cherished by her surviving grandchildren, Scott Haizel, Joshua (Sophia) Thiede,
