Marcella M. Hraby, 97, of Medford, passed away on Friday, Jan. 17, 2025 at The Waterford of Colby, under the care of Heartland Hospice. A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, 2025 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Father Patrick McConnell officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will take place at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Friday, Jan. 24, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.

Marcella was born on Jan. 3, 1928 in the Town of Greenwood to William and Rose (Roiger) Tilch. Her marriage to Joseph Hraby took place on Nov. 30, 1946 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in the Town of Greenwood. He died Sept. 12, 1998. She was a homemaker and mother while helping with the farming until they retired. They moved to Medford in 1991. Following retirement, she worked part-time at several cafes.

She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and being outdoors.

She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Marcella is survived by her two children, Alan (Peggy) and Barbara (Don) Grant; daughter-in-law, Linda Hraby; seven grandchildren, fourteen greatgrandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived two sisters, Cecelia Szomi and Margie Tilch; two brothers, Harvey (Mary) Tilch, and John (Sue) Tilch; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Tilch and Ann Tilch.

Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, son, Michael, infant son, parents, four brothers and four sisters.

Memorial donations may be made to Historic St. Ann’s or Holy Rosary.

CRASH
On January 9, at 11:19 p.m., the Taylor County sheriff’s department responded to one vehicle crash on Hwy 102 in the village of Rib Lake. According to the crash report, the deputy was dispatched to the intersection of Hwy 102 and Mill Lane in the village for an automated report of an accident. Dispatch was able to contact the registered owner/driver of the vehicle, Ezra Graumann, 23, of Chelsea, whose vehicle generated the automatic call. Law enforcement told Graumann to remain on the scene. The deputy arrived on the scene at 11:35 p.m., and observed the white 2017 Ford F150 in the north ditch of Hwy 102 east if Mill Ln. There was airbag deployment in the truck. The deputy also observed a set of tire tracks through the snow that led to the truck. The tracks originated on Hwy 102 in the westbound lane before crossing over the center of the roadway into the eastbound lane of Hwy 102. The tracks were in an S-shaped pattern where it appeared the driver lost control of the vehicle and crossed back into the westbound lane of traffic. The vehicle then left the roadway and hit a sign, damaging the sign in the process, and continued into the north ditch of Hwy 102. The driver of the vehicle did not remain at the scene. The vehicle sustained functional damage. Graumann was cited for operating left of center, failure to keep vehicle under control and failure to file an accident report. TAYLOR COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
