Rib Lake village board shifts carryovers into 2025 budget
Rib Lake village board members made the most of a short agenda at the January 8 regular meeting.
Top items on the agenda included the budget reconciliation for the library portion of the village budget and routine approval of designating public depositories.
The village contributes annually toward the operations of the Rib Lake Public Library with the amount formally approved as a budget amendment at the end of the year.
At last week’s meeting, trustees approved a budget amendment for culture and recreation for the library of $21,451.54.
Trustees also approved a budget amendment to reallocate $119,601 in carry-over funds from the 2024 budget across the 2025 budget.
Under the changes, the following budget areas received additional allocations: General Govt. — Deputy Clerk/ Treasurer $1,000, Office Supply and Publications $2,000, Audit $2,000.
Public Works — Garbage Contract $6,000, Commercial Recycling pick up $1,000.
Culture & Recreation — Park & Rec $3,000.
Health & Human Service —Cemetery $1,500, Senior Center $8,550.
Capital Outlay — Street Projects Capital Outlay $65,000, Contingency Capital Outlay $19,551.
Certificate. of Deposit — Street Machinery Replacement CD $10,000.
Trustees also formally named Nicolet National Bank and Forward Bank as official public depositories. This designation allows for the village to place public funds there and names clerk Kristin Lueck and Deputy Clerk Tammy Mann with village president Bill Schreiner as the countersigner.
Trustees also met in closed session to consider “employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility.” There was no action taken from the closed session.
