Larry Halverson

1951-2024

Our hearts are heavy today as the Lord welcomed another angel under His wings. Larry Lee Halverson, at the age of 73, of North Port, Fla., entered eternal rest on Dec. 29, 2024.

Larry was born on Jan. 16, 1951 to Lloyd and Rose (Parkhill) Halverson in Edgar. He was one of three children. Once he graduated high school, he married the love of his life, Marlene (Schilling) Halverson, in 1969. Shortly after marrying he signed up for the US Army Reserves in Nov. 1969. Once he returned home he worked in construction building homes. He was a jack of all trades. He could fix anything he touched. He was even called the “wood doctor”. Larry and Marlene were blessed with one child, Brenda. He was a devoted husband, dad, and grandpa. He took great pride in everything he touched.

Larry is survived by many loved ones, his wife, Marlene (Schilling) Halverson of 55 years; daughter, Brenda (Daniel) Henke of Florida. He was honored and delighted to have three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Grandchildren: Jaylene (Colin)Lannet,JordanHenke,SidneyHenke(fiancee Samual Gammon). Great-grandchildren: Elliana, Jackson, and Lily. As well as siblings: Charlene Halverson (Loren) and Lavern Halverson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his parents; three sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law.

He spent his last moments celebrating and spending time with family at Christmas. He enjoyed every moment he could with the ones he loved.
