1946-2025

Joann “Jo” (Seidel) Peterson, 78, of Westboro, passed away peacefully on Jan. 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Medford, Joann spent her early years in Rib Lake before moving to Rockford, Ill., and moving back to Westboro in the early 1970s. Joann married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Bill Peterson, on April 18, 1964. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. As a partner with Bill at Peterson Machine and Tool, Joann’s quiet dedication and steady work ethic were the backbone of their family business for over 40 years. They raised four children and had many wonderful times together, including many camping and fishing trips and time at the cottage.

She found her greatest joy in family time and loved reading, cruise vacations, and music.

Joann was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Evelyn Seidel. She is survived by her beloved husband, Bill Peterson; her four children, Peggy (Matt) Quirk of Colo., Bill Peterson, Jr. of Fla., Susie (Joel) Krause of Minn., Kim (Dan) Schlosser of Alaska; her siblings, Jim (Faith) Seidel from Wisc., Bonnie (Steve) Fechtner of Wisc.; and her extended family, including nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held later in the year.

Joann’s gentle spirit and love will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
