Ervin A. Graf
1933-2025
Ervin A. Graf, 91, of Medford, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2025 at Our House Assisted Living in Medford, while under the care of Hope Hospice. Ervin was born March 26, 1933 in Rib Lake to Ervin W. and Fern (Bailey) Graf. He grew up in Rib Lake where he also attended school. From 1950 until his honorable discharge in 1954, Ervin served proudly in the U.S. Navy, serving in Korea during the Korean War.
On June 11, 1955, he married Agnes Gilles at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford. They resided in Medford where Ervin worked as a body and fender repair specialist at Strebig’s Auto (which later became H & H) until his retirement in 1998, at age 65.
Working part-time well into his 70’s, Ervin clearly liked to keep busy. He enjoyed heading north to his cabin on Moose Lake near Hayward where there was always plenty to do and where he found contentment in fishing and being outdoors. He also enjoyed hanging out with his fellow service members at the VFW; grouse hunting; and cheering on the Brewers and the Packers. He was a proud lifetime member of the Medford VFW Post 5729.
Ervin was a quiet, unassuming man of great devotion to his faith, his country and his family, and will be dearly missed by his wife of 69 years, Agnes of Medford; three sons, Mike (Cheryl) of Rochester, Minn., Steve (Tammy), Pat (Theresa), all of Medford; siblings, Thelma (Fred) Klein of Wausau, Darrel Graf of Rockford, Ill., Bill (Sandra) Graf of Withee; grandchildren, Michael (Sarah) Graf, Becky (Dan) Nixon, Dylan Graf, Nicole (Chris) Graf, Samantha (Abe) Heier; great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Emerson and Elijah Nixon, Anthony and Shea Graf, Preston and Dominic Heier; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughterin- law, Stephanie Graf; brother, Lewis; sister, Marcella Peterson; and sisters-in-law, Pat and Carol Graf.
A memorial mass will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford with Fr. Julian Druffner officiating. Military rites given by the Medford Area Military Honors Team will follow.
