Dorothy Ann Wesle, 94, of Medford, died Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024 while under the care of Hope Hospice. Dorothy was born Jan. 24, 1930 at home in the town of Hammel to John and Emma (Federspiel) Czarnezki. She graduated from Medford High School, class of 1947. On Dec. 27, 1947 she married Glendon W. “Glen” Wesle at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. They resided in the town of Deer Creek where they farmed for 30 years. Dorothy also worked outside the farm pelting mink, and worked at her sister Marie’s shop, The Tasty Treat. They moved to Medford in 1979.

Dorothy liked to stay social and active. She enjoyed polka dancing, was the Deer Creek Comets 4-H leader for many years, belonged to many area card clubs, was a member of the Dorchester TOPS, enjoyed playing cribbage and taking road trips to the casino, bowled for many years until age 89, fished into her 90’s, and kept a sharp mind all the while. A remarkable, faithful woman who will be dearly missed.

She is survived by four children, Jean (Paul) Jakel of Abbotsford, Dick (Barb) Wesle of Stetsonville, Bob (Barb) Wesle of Spencer, Tom (Cheryl) Wesle of Somerset; a brother, John “Jack” Czarnezki of Milwaukee; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glen in 2014; son, Joseph in infancy; daughter, Patricia “Pat” Wesle in 2022; siblings, Gerald (Eleanor) Czarnezki, Marie (Chet) Strebig, Vernon (Bernice) Czarnezki, Milan (Lila) Czarnezki, Sister Elaine Czarnezki (Sisters of Divine Mercy); in-laws, Mary “Arlene” Czarnezki, Harriet (Raymond) Meyer, Audrey (Reiny) Klingbeil, and Joan (Harold) Bizer.

A funeral mass was held at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 30, 2024 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Burial followed at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford.

Visitation was from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., Monday at the church.

Memorials are appreciated and may go to one of the following organizations Dorothy held close to her heart: Black River Industries, the Salvation Army, or Holy Rosary Catholic School.
