Keith M. Becken, 65, of Reeseville passed away on Friday, Dec. 13, 2024 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 30, 2024 at First Baptist Church, in Medford, with Pastor Mike Barnhart officiating. Visitation will take place at First Baptist Church on Monday, Dec. 30, 2024 from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.

Keith was born on Feb. 7, 1959 in Milwaukee to Halver “Sonny” and Sandra (Steinwand) Becken. He graduated from Milwaukee Tech and Trade High School and went on to complete fire school. He married Lynn M. Habeck on Aug. 5, 2006 at the Perkinstown Log Church.

Keith worked for four years with the Greendale Fire Department and 33 years with the Watertown Fire Department. He earned his paramedics certificate in 1993 and became assistant chief in 1996, serving until his retirement in 2018. After his 37 years of fire service he worked at Marquardt Senior Living as a maintenance tech until his full retirement in 2023.

Keith lived on his hobby farm in Reeseville and enjoyed woodworking, shooting sports, being outdoors, and camping with his family. He was always up for a challenge with projects and fixed anything and everything. He was a master tinkerer. He loved being at the cabin in Perkinstown he had built with his dad and his brother. He especially loved when his grandkids, which he loved so much and was so proud of, would come to visit.

Keith is survived by his wife, Lynn, and their dog, Mylee; mother, Sandra Becken; stepsons, Christopher (Jam) Liske and Chad (Lacey) Liske; grandchildren Morgan, Raylyn, Toren, Joelle, Marissa, and Mason Liske; siblings, Terri (Roy) Back, Todd (Kim) Becken, Deanne (Dennis) VanDaalwyk; mother-in-law, Delores Habeck; sister-in-law, Jeannie (Mike) Pardo; foster sisters-in-law, Marie (Bruce) Albers, Barb (Greg) Ackeret, and Linda Thorson-Bruner. Keith is further survived by several nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

Keith was preceded in death by his father, Sonny; foster sister-in-laws, Penny Kapitz and Paula St. Clair; and father-in-law, Merle Habeck.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Keith’s name may be given to support PBS Wisconsin and FBC youth ministries. Cards may be sent to Lynn Becken at W10956 Port Rd. Reeseville, WI 53579 Hemer-Pickerign Funeral & Cremation Services of Medford is serving the family.
