On December 14, at 12:29 a.m., a vehicle operated by Mason Harris, 17, of Medford, was northbound on Castle Road in the town of Medford. A deer exited the west ditch moving east. On December 14, at 12:29 a.m., a vehicle operated by Mason Harris, 17, of Medford, was northbound on Castle Road in the town of Medford. A deer exited the west ditch moving east. One vehicle crashes The Koester vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Koester was cited for inattentive driving.

On December 7, at 11:44 a.m., a vehicle operated by Xaivier Kamp, 18, of Stetsonville, was driving north on Oriole Dr. in the town Medford, when it hit some slush in the road. The driver lost control of the vehicle and it crossed the center line and entered the west ditch backwards where it came to rest on its wheels facing south. The driver and adult passenger were both uninjured and wearing their seat belts. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Kamp was cited for failure to keep vehicle under control.

On December 5, at 12:15 p.m., a vehicle operated by Phillip Graumann, 46, of Rib Lake, was traveling northbound on Business Highway 13 in the town Westboro. The vehicle was approaching a curve to the left and continued straight into the ditch striking a tree. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Graumann was cited for operating while under the influence.

Two vehicle crashes

On December 10, at 4:02 p.m., a vehicle operated by Leon Gasek, 71, of Medford, was stopped in the lane of travel in the Medford Plaza Parking lot in Medford when a vehicle operated by Beverly Zuleger, 84, of Medford backed into the side of the vehicle causing minor damage.

On December 6, at 6:47 p.m., a vehicle operated by Erik Price, 64, of Medford was legally parked in a parking space facing eastbound at 550 N. 8th St. 0A vehicle owned by Sherry Born, 52, of Medford, was legally parked facing eastbound in a parking space located southwest of the Price vehicle. Price then backed up, turning to face northbound while doing so. The hitch of his vehicle then hit the front driver’s side corner of the Born vehicle. According to the crash report, Price looked at the vehicle but did not see any damage. He then left the scene. Born called police after seeing the damage to her vehicle. Price stated it was dark so he may not have seen the damage. Due to Price leaving the scene video footage of the incident was reviewed and obtained.

On December 13, at 4:55 p.m., a vehicle operated by Tana Rappe, 17, of Medford, was southbound on Hwy 13 in the town of Medford and was slowing to make a left hand turn eastbound onto Jolly Ave. A vehicle operated by Hayden Koester, 18, of Medford, was southbound behind Rappe and did not slow down, striking Rappe in the rear. According to the crash report, Koester advised he was not paying attention and did not realize the Rappe vehicle was slowing until it was too late. The southbound lane was closed for about 49 minutes. The Rappe vehicle sustained functional damage to its rear and left rear corner.

Deer related

On December 10, at 10:52 p.m., a vehicle operated by Matthew Schneider, 61, of Rib Lake, struck a deer while traveling on Timber Ave. in the town of Greenwood. The vehicle sustained functional damage.

On December 9, at 5 p.m., a vehicle operated by Richard Cwikla, 75, of Withee, struck a deer while traveling on Clark Dr. in the town of Maplehurst. The vehicle sustained functional damage.

On December 7, at 9:10 p.m., a vehicle operated by Riley Herman, 22, of Menomonie, struck a deer while traveling northbound on CTH E in the town of Little Black. The vehicle sustained functional damage.


On December 8, at about 4:45 p.m., a vehicle operated by Jason Olson, 50, of Medford, was driving westbound on Hwy 64 approaching a southbound curve at an intersection with CTH E in the town of Medford. The driver failed to negotiate the curve and continued to travel westbound on Hwy 64 causing the vehicle to drive into the north ditch of Hwy 64. The vehicle continued through the ditch and struck an embankment, causing it to go airborne over a turn road between CTH E and Hwy 64. The vehicle then landed in the ditch on the south side of CTH E where it rolled over onto its roof before continuing to roll over ending right side up facing west. Olson was transported by ambulance to Aspirus Medford Hospital with suspected minor injuries. The vehicle was towed from the scene due to disabling damage.
