Jeffrey James Gallistel
1964-2024
Jeffrey James Gallistel, 60, of Yermo, Calif., peacefully passed away on Oct. 23, 2024 in his home, after a difficult battle with pancreatic cancer. Jeff was born on Oct. 16, 1964 to James and Judy Gallistel in Marshfield. After Jeff graduated from Medford Area Senior High School (MASH) in 1983, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving our country for 10 years.
During his time serving, he landed in Fort Irwin, Calif. where he continued working. He worked in Fort Irwin for over 20 years in various fields throughout his time. Jeff was always passionate about his work and loved what he did for a living.
In 2000, he met his wife Shelley at the American Legion in Yermo, Calif. They married in 2002 in Big Bear, Calif. Together they raised Shelley’s two children, Justin and Gordon.
Jeff retired in 2024 after 30 years in Military and Government Services. Jeff lived a full life, always enjoying spending time with family and his dogs, BBQing, golfing, playing horseshoes, traveling, off roading, and watching the Green Bay Packers.
Jeff was preceded by his father, James Gallistel and mother, Judy Gallistel.
He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Shelley Gallistel; sons, Justin (Aubrey) Nelson and Gordon (Kailee) Nelson; brother, Tom Gallistel; mother-in-law, Barbara Hendley; brother-in-law, Richie (Wendy) Hendley; granddaughter, Kori Nelson; grandson, Cade Nelson; and many nieces and a nephew.
Services will be held at Silver Valley Baptist Church, 520 Yermo Road, Yermo, Calif., on Nov. 2, 2024 at 12 p.m.
