1951-2024

Patricia Lynn Meyerhoff, 73, of Ogema, formerly of Long Grove, Iowa, passed away peacefully Sept. 14, 2024. She was known as Pat, Patty, or Lil’ Bit, depending on who was talking to her. She had a lifelong passion for art. She loved painting and landscape photography. She ran a craft store for several years in Eldridge, Iowa and then De-Witt, Iowa in which she sold her paintings. In 2005 she got certified as a CNA, eventually working in hospice care for several years. Pat had a deep love for helping people through the difficult times. She relied on her faith and convictions to go above and beyond in helping people.

In 2014 she bought her dream home on 40 acres in Wisconsin. It needed a lot of work, but that wasn’t going to slow her down. Piece by piece, she renovated and rebuilt her house. She defied anyone who told her little old ladies couldn’t do those things. Being in nature was always her most sacred and healing place to be. She spent most of her life growing gardens and learning natural healing remedies. She found comfort being surrounded by her woods. Her passion for art and nature was surpassed only by her love for Jesus. Her final wish is that all will someday find their way to Christ as she did.

She is survived by her daughters, Amy (Colin) Mangan of Coralville, Iowa, and Tina (Jason) Ferrel of Wilton, Iowa; and four grandchildren; and her sisters, Susan Orr, Ruth (Ed) Hurley, and June (Gilbert) Gonzales.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and granddaughter, Willow Mae Ferrel.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 at Grace Evangelical Free Church in Davenport, Iowa, with dinner to follow. A short visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m.
