Gary A. “Claire” Frischmann
1955-2024
Gary A. “Claire” Frischmann, 68, of Medford, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2024 unexpectedly at home. He was born Oct. 13, 1955 in Medford to Melvin and Irene (Haenel) Frischmann. He grew up in Medford and graduated from Medford High School in 1974. On Nov. 18, 1978, he married Esther Miller. They resided in the town of Medford where they raised their two children. Gary’s employment began working for Weather Shield, then he went into logging with his cousins for a few years before returning to Weather Shield. He then worked for Hurd Windows, and finally for Marathon Cheese, retiring from there in June of this year.
Gary was a quiet, simple man who enjoyed the outdoors. He and Esther went on many adventures on his Gold Wing, including a few cross country trips and a memorable trip around Lake Superior. He was a hard worker and loved hunting, fishing, cutting wood, and just being outside on his property. He was a loyal patriot and was proud of his country and those who served. His grandchildren will remember how he always made them laugh, either with funny faces or his goofy stories. And he loved listening to Reba!
He will be dearly missed by his wife of nearly 46 years, Esther, of Medford; two children, Travis (Abbey) Frischmann, Trisha (Corey) Dassow, all of Medford; grandchildren, Tristan, Jada, Brooklyn, McKenzie, Ella, Willow, Eden and Arbor; brothers, James (Sharon) of Medford, Thomas of Rib Lake, Randy (Liz) of Medford; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rosa (Harvey) Hockstetler of Mo., Freeman Miller of Tomah, William (Cora) Miller of Rice Lake; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister-in-law, Clara Miller. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 20, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Whittlesey with Pastor Ralph Shorey officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 19 at Trinity Lutheran Church, with a prayer service led by Pastor Shorey at 7 p.m. to conclude the evening. Visitation will resume at 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
