United Way plans Day of Caring Oct. 11
The United Way of Taylor County is excited to announce the Day of Caring, scheduled for October 11, 2024. This community event encourages individuals, businesses, and corporate teams to join forces for a day of volunteer service.
The Day of Caring initiative is a day where volunteers collaborate on half-day and full-day projects that local nonprofits may struggle to complete on their own. These projects encompass a wide range of tasks, from cleaning to outdoor maintenance, all contributing directly to the betterment of our community.
Calling all volunteers
Volunteers of all backgrounds and abilities are welcome to participate in the 2024 Day of Caring. Whether you can spare a half day or a full day, your time and dedication are invaluable. Half-day shifts are available from 8 a.m. - Noon or 1 p.m. - 4 p.m., and those who volunteer for the entire day will be treated to a free lunch from Noon - 1 p.m..
Project requests from nonprofits
Nonprofit organizations within Taylor County are encouraged to submit project requests online at www.uwtaylor. org, by September 22. Providing a comprehensive project description, location details, and any specific physical requirements is essential for matching projects with volunteers eager to make a difference.
The Day of Caring projects will be hosted at various nonprofit and community organizations throughout Taylor County. The full list of projects will be unveiled on September 27, with updates posted at www.uwtaylor.org.
