Angeline Francis Kurtz Lukes

1923-2024

Angeline Francis Kurtz Lukes was born in Alpha, Mich., on July 24, 1923. She was 101 years of age when she died on Aug. 17, 2024, with her loving family around her. She was born to Sophie and Henry Kurtz, the sixth of eight children. Working in the Chicago area as a proofreader, she met Glenn Lukes and soon would marry him. They were married 56 years, until his death in 2005. They lived in the Chicago and Zion, Ill. area for 20 years, then moved to the Ogema area. Angie was the proud mother of Gregory, Ronald, and Gordon and was a wonderful cook, housekeeper, and seamstress. Having grown up in the Crystal Falls area of Upper Michigan, she shared many adventurous stories of farm life and school and had many memories of her experiences in life. She raised three boys and came from a big farm family. Angeline was a proud member of Phillips Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Often, she would talk to others about living forever in Paradise without suffering, old age, death and no wickedness at all.

She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings, Mary, Frank, Louis, Helen, Josephine, Jeannette, Henry, and Evelyn. Her husband Glenn preceded her, then one great-grandson, Kaleb. She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Gregory (Lynnice), Ronald (Gerda), and Gordon (Jeannette). She also dearly loved her grandchildren, Candi (Jason ), Jamie (Jade), Forest (Shanna), Kaye Lani (Michael), Cody, and Naomi (Bob). Her step-grandchildren include John, Michael and Jodie. Great-grandchildren include Gregory (Lila), Shawn, Glenn, Alexa, Ava, James, Luke, and Winter. The only great-great-grandson is Sterling. Thank you to Hope Hospice for their help. Per Angie’s wishes, no funeral or memorial will be held.

A private family service was provided.
