Single vehicle crash

On August 19 at 3:10 p.m., a vehicle operated by Gregory Heimerl, 61, of Appleton, was traveling northbound on S 8th St. in the city of Medford. While traveling northbound, the passenger’s side of the vehicle scraped against a road work sign on the east side shoulder of the road. Heimerl did not stay on scene, as he did not believe this caused any damage to his vehicle. At approximately 3:53 p.m., he reported the incident, as he noticed damage to his vehicle. Heimerl did not know exactly where the incident occurred, but knew it happened on S 8th St., south of Medford Plaza. Heimerl told law enforcement the sign he hit was knocked down from the incident. Due to multiple signs lying on the ground from recent construction, it was undetermined which one was knocked down from the incident and in what location.
