Normal School holds annual reunion

The Taylor County Normal School / Teachers College Reunion was held Sat. Aug. 19 at the Taylor County Fair Grounds. It was decided to have it again next year on Aug. 17, 2024, at the Medford Taylor County Fair Grounds. Mark your calendars.

People from the following years of graduation attended the event: 1953 Deloris Schillinger Habeck, Mavis Kress Wood 1955 Joyce Klingbeil Baker, Marlene Weix Bach, Violet Lichtl Jensen 1958 Larry Fagan 1962 Kenneth P. Mahalko 1964 Tony Marohl 1967 Beverly Schmidt Adams 1968 Gail Egle Helmert, Patricia Kliment Trudeau 1989 Enid Scheibe Fuchs, Bob Callahan 1970 Grace Dietiel-Ensign Guests were: Louise Paul, Eugene Jensen, Peter Trudeau, Beth Eno Experiences were shared about their life. Each attendee told about their life which included teaching, marriage, children and grandchildren. There were memories of the travel by school buses to different areas of the United States and Canada.

The families and friends of Jean Hennlich Edwards Romang gathered to celebrate Jean’s Centennial Year on, Sunday, August 19, 2023. Members of Jean’s blended family came from Arizona, Arkansas, Iowa, Texas, Illinois and Wisconsin to honor their mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend. Jean, a former Curtiss, Stetsonville, and Athens resident, is a current resident of Aspirus Senior Care, Medford.

Jean has touched many lives by being a role model on the family level, in her contributions to community in the American Legion Auxiliary, church, Girl Scouting and her friendly outgoing personality.

Her Milestone Goal of reaching 100 will be attained on December 5, 2023.
