The Medford City Council tabled action on a proposed ATV/UTV route through the city. The council approved the delay at its meeting Monday to give it more time to decide what rules it might want in place to police the route. The next meeting which would deal with the issue is September 9.

The route would allow ATV users in the Town of Medford to directly access some of the city’s gas stations, restaurants, and hotels. The main legs are portions of Allman and Seventh streets, with connections to the town at River Drive and Perkins Street. The city routes will also include one block spurs at South, Clark and Taylor streets between Seventh and Eighth streets to reach the businesses located on Hwy 13.

An Oconomowoc man who had a lost twenty dollar bill returned to him in Medford last week remarked to the finder that he was glad to see there was at least one honest person. “Why,” said the finder, “Taylor County is full of honest people. You hear of it if a man steals twenty dollars while a dozen lost articles could be returned and you wouldn’t know about them.”

And our experience with lost and found advertisements bears out the statement above that Taylor County is full of honest people.

Medford has donned its best gala garb and is now entertaining the Wisconsin German Editorial Association. Everyone, of whatever nationality welcomes our distinguished visitors most heartily, and almost all our citizens have shown their appreciation of the presence of these gentlemen by profusely decorating their buildings and homes. The treat decorations arranged by the committee under the leadership of Chas. Hoefner are really beautiful and elaborate.
