Fun facts about me

Fun facts about me Fun facts about me

Although I already introduced myself to you all last week, I know that many of you still have no clue who I am and what I am about. To change this, I made a list of 7 fun facts about myself so that you can all get to know me a bit better.

1. I love writing poetry and have had 3 of my poems published in a literary magazine. My passion for poetry is a fairly recent one that started with a poetry class ran by one of my favorite professors at UW-Platteville. I tend to pull inspiration from women poets such as Sylvia Plath, Charlotte Smith, and Victoria Chang. I hope that someday I can publish my own book of poems.

2. One of my favorite pastimes is listening to true crime podcasts. This hobby started at the beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic when everyone was stuck at home and forced to find new forms of inside entertainment. Now I listen to podcasts daily.

3. I absolutely love music and when I was a little kid I convinced myself that I was not only going to audition for American Idol but win the whole thing. Unfortunately that did not happen and now I stick to singing in the car.

4. I have a little brother who is 15 years younger than me. I was an only child until I was 15 but I couldn’t have been happier when I found out I was finally going to have a sibling.

5. I love horror movies and I have since I was a child when I watched Chucky for the first time. Now, my friends are lucky if I pick any genre other than horror for our frequent movie nights. In reality, I enjoy all genres but there is just something about watching a horror movie in the dark with your friends that cannot be replaced with any other genre.

6. My 3 least favorite foods are midwest staples: fish, brats, and any type of sausage. While many of you may question how I can call myself a midwesterner due to my questionable taste in food, I am pretty sure that my love of casseroles and cheese still earns me the title.

7. I used to hate writing. This was mostly because the only papers I wrote in high school were reports. Luckily I found a passion for writing my second semester at college and I changed my major to English. Now writing is one of the most important aspects of my life.
