85th annual meeting of JREC membership planned for April 29
Jump River Electric Cooperative (JREC) will be holding its 85th Annual Meeting of its Membership on Saturday, April 29, 2023. The meeting will be held at the Ladysmith headquarters warehouse, located just north of Ladysmith along State Highway 27. Members can also participate in this meeting from the Hayward outpost, where the annual meeting will be livestreamed. Registration, at both locations, begins at 9:30 a.m. with the business meeting starting at 10 a.m.
Attendees will receive a $25 energy credit (one per membership) and other door prizes, as well the chance to win one of five $100 energy credits and a grand prize of one $500 energy credit. The meeting will include a presentation from Brent Ridge, President and CEO of Dairyland Power Cooperative, JREC’s wholesale provider. Reports will also be given by JREC’s Board Chairman and staff.
Members are being asked to vote for the election of three director seats and on proposed bylaw amendments. JREC General Manager/CEO Kurt Harris states, “The annual meeting is a great opportunity for us to hear from you. This also provides our members a chance to take part in the democratic process of their cooperative.”
Voting can be done one of three ways. Prior to the annual meeting, members can cast an electronic or absentee mail-in ballot. Members attending the annual meeting, and who have not already voted, can cast a meeting-day ballot during registration on April 29. Please call the cooperative at 715-532-5524 if you have a question on the different balloting options or deadlines.
