Medford students raising funds to perform in Europe
The following 16 Medford students are taking advantage of a really cool opportunity this summer. They will be traveling with about 250 students from around Wisconsin to perform in Europe. Congratulate these students when you see them next as this is a really big deal for the students: Jaeden Brandner, Maddie Ellis, Jaxon Fallos, Hollyann Grube, Trinity Grueneberg, Vanessa Herrada, Nevaeh Hoffman, Cullen Jones, Andrew Krug, Evan Pagel, Olivia Satterthwaite, Leila Sigmund, Trinity Wesle, Lorien Kautzer, Lindsey Klapatauskas, and Nathan Willman.
“As you can imagine, this comes at a large cost. We are currently running several fundraisers,” said music teacher Kendra Junk.
The students are selling Kwik Trip Gift, Grocery, and Car Wash cards now through Thanksgiving. Starting the first full week of December, they will also be available for purchase through the MASH Office. Purchases can be directed toward a specific student or to all of the students.
The music program is also collecting new and gently used shoes. The shoes will go to help those less fortunate. There will be boxes at the following locations until January 15: Stetsonville Elementary School, Medford Area Elementary School, Medford Area Middle School, Medford Area Senior High School, Craig’s Automotive, Maple Island, and United Community Church of Christ. “Please consider going through your closets over the holidays and donating the shoes your family no longer uses,” Junk said.
They also have a website that is accepting donations and ask people to consider donating to a specific student or the group as a whole via the link below. If you don’t see a student listed on the donation page, you can donate to the group and add a note with the specific student you would like to receive your donation. https://bit. ly/MedfordAHStars https://bit
The students in the music department at Medford Area Senior High School have been busy the past couple weekends. On Saturday, November 5 Medford Band program had nine students accepted to perform at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire high school honors band. These students spent the day playing with other top high school students from the area. They were also able to work with the university students and faculty. Congratulations to Braxton Crabb, Ben Ortengren, Olivia Satterthwaite, Neveah Hoffman, Brayden Books, Mara Denzine, Vanessa Herrada, Andy Books, and Veronica Filas for the achievement.
